New Melones Reservoir
Kokanee fishing at New Melones is off the chart! I found good action near the 49 bridge and Carson Cove. Most in the 12 to 13 inch class. Uncle Larry's lures and Glitter Bug hoochies worked extremely well. Pro Cures bloody tuna was our corn scent. German Brown action was very good for us this week! One of my clients decided to target German Browns and was very successful. He nailed 4 Browns from 31/2 to 5.4 lbs. Rolling shad laced with Pro Cure scent in 70 feet deep near shorelines. Micheal Moorman Lodi elected to release his Browns and settled for a nice limit of Kokanee. Water temperature 68 degrees.

New Hogan
High winds made Striper fishing difficult this week. However, on one outing we managed to catch 4 fish from 1.5 lbs. to 3 lbs. The line sides are extremely scattered between the mouth of the river to the dam. My recommendation is cover a lot of water and be very patient! Rolling shad and anchovies 15 to 25 feet deep in the river channel. Water temperatures 67 degrees.
